Happy List

Linking up for Jenni's Blog everyday in May series!

Today is all about 10 things that make me happy!

Family + Riley
At the end of the day, your family is always there. I'm so grateful.

Mr. Boo Bear

This little ball if fur makes me so happy!! He may wake me up at all hours of the night and can be naughty from time to time, but he is the best little cuddle bug!

This Guy
Greg is no stranger to this blog. This guy can really push my buttons sometimes (men), but at the end of the day he makes me very happy!

Friends
Throughout the years I have really found out who my true friends are.
Great friends are hard to come by, so when you find one don't let go!

The Zoo

Hello I'm 29 going on 5! I love the Zoo, I never get tired of going and seeing all of the animals! I love it so much I joined my local zoo committee called Flock!

The Beach
I could seriously live on an island! The beach is totally my happy place. I love to listen to the waves and feel the sand between my toes. I would have no problem being an island girl. I love seafood and any excuse to not have to wear shoes!

Peonies
This flower always puts a smile on my face! They are just beautiful and I love their fragrance

Cotton Candy
Hello it's 5 year old Selena again, need I say more!!

Champagne
My best friend Sarah and I have been popping bottles since college!
I can never get enough Champs!

Dancing & Music
I love music, it can change my mood at given time. I even bet Greg that I could name 10,000 songs! I also love dancing!! It's so much FUN!!

Movies
I wish I could watch movies everyday!! I love getting snacks, dinner, drinks and/or pillows ready to watch a movie! Hopefully once we get the mosquito's in check I can try and recreate this in our backyard! This looks so inviting!

One to grow on, free weekends
Free weekends do not happen a lot for me. There is always someone to see, things to do and places to be. I cannot complain because my life is so full of so many wonderful things. I do however really enjoy a free weekend every now and then! It makes me happy

And because we are talking all things "Happy" today
I want to wish one of my best friends a Happy Birthday today!!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!
Hope you have a great day! I love you!!
Singing some of our favorite songs together!

GATSBY

I have waited a long time for this movie to come out, sure there have been others, but this one is going to be good. So much eye candy to look at and I'm not really talking about Mr. Dicaprio. I'm talking lots of champs, costumes, bling, etc!! Well and maybe Mr. D.....I think he will make a fine Jay Gatsby! I am also really excited about the soundtrack! Jay Z, Sia, The xx, Florence, etc. Let's just say I am ecstatic about this movie!

I read this book in high school for AR (accelerated reader), did anyone else have to read books to an extra grade in English class or was that just a small town thing? Anyways, I decided to reread it again and I love how it transports me!! I'm also thinking about rereading brave new world, now that would be a cool movie, Hunger Games kind of reminds me of a spin off of Brave New World. Okay, sorry I'm having problems staying on track here, lol.

The Great Gatsby comes out on Friday and to celebrate I thought I would share a fun twenties style cocktail!

"A twist on the classic Champagne Cocktail (a roaring-twenties favorite), this drink adds green chartreuse and a twist of lime in reference to the characters' preferred spirit, and that ever-present green light, illuminating their garden parties."

Are you going to go see this movie?!

The things I'm most afraid of

I would first like to thank everyone for their sweet thoughts and prayers for my grandma. Since the end of last week things have not been easy and when I got a call this morning that they were rescheduling her bypass surgery, my entire family is having to continue on this emotional ride. Friday will now be the day, in the meantime she is to rest and get as strong as she can for Friday morning. I'm so ready for this week to be over.
Linking up with Jenni for blog every day in May.
Today's topic is things that you're most afraid of. While I am most definitely afraid of heights and snakes (UGH), there are a few others that really bother me.

Losing someone close to me. It has happened before and it will happen again, it's just the circle of life. With everything going on with my my grandma right now it really hits home. It makes me sad for my mom to go through all of this with her mom. I cannot imagine how that feels. I guess all I can do now is enjoy every moment with my family and pray.
This is just part of life.

I am really afraid of is not being able to have children. I know so many people who either have had problems with getting pregnant or cannot even have babies at all. This makes me so sad for them.  I also think about how I'll be 30 next year and I'm not even married yet. It's always been in the back of my mind, but that is just another bridge I will have to cross when the time comes.

The other thing I am really afraid of is my health, I feel like I am seeing people all over the place getting diagnosed with all kinds of stuff left and right.

I think we all have a lot of things that we are afraid of, it's human nature.
Right now these are just a few that top my list.

Prayers

Morning friends!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend with lots of sun or at least lots of margaritas!!!

My weekend was pretty good and I tried to distract myself here and there a little.
My Grandmother was put in the hospital last week for liquid in her lungs. After several tests and procedures they concluded that she would need to have double bypass surgery. She will have this surgery tomorrow morning. I debated back and forth about weather or not I wanted/should blog about it for various reasons. I finally decided that I needed to do it for my own peace of mind because blogging has brought on such an amazing support group and that is exactly what I need right now. Prayers and support.

If you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers for tomorrow, I would really appreciate it
