Monday Mourning!

Why do the weekends fly by soooooo fast?  I wake up so early on the weekends and once Monday gets here I could actually sleep in! UGH! I hope everyone had a great weekend!  The Olympics are already consuming me. I thought the opening ceremony was really good (I mean following Beijing and all). The 007 opening with the Queen was awesome! I really liked how Danny Boyle presented all the eras of Great Britain. The set changes were amazing and he even gave some of my favorites nods....(David Bowie, Paul McCarthy, Mr. Bean....LOL). I also enjoyed the lighting of the torch with David Beckham on the boat, wind blowing through his hair (very nice) and staring at Will and Kate every time the camera turned their way!

This coming weekend is White Linen Nights in The Heights!! Everyone wears white and there are 3 main streets blocked off that people can roam around, drink, shop and listen to live bands. Every store has specials and appetizers. It's pretty awesome and every year it gets bigger and bigger with thousands of people! So if you happen to be in the area this weekend you should check it out!

Today I want to share some white pieces that I'm really liking right now....I mean hey let's be honest...we only have another month to rock the white before Labor Day!

Reflection

It has been so hard watching all of the stories from the Aurora shooting all weekend long. There are no words to describe what those families must be going through. I came across a story that I wanted to share.

Something very chilling that I heard about was that one of the victims named Jessica Ghawi. She moved to Colorado from Texas to make her career dreams come true. She was interning at The Fan, a sports station in CO and just last month she had encountered a shooting in Canada and escaped it.

Jessica Ghawi — who was in her early 20s, and also went by Jessica Redfield

Her blog link is below.

You can read more about her here.

Her brother also started a blog-

Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to her family and all the others effected by this senseless act of violence. It's all so very sad and it should remind us of how truly precious life really is.

Family fun time!!

This weekend was so much fun! I was able to spend time with my family and Greg's family! It was beautiful and sunny all weekend, which made for even better days. Saturday my cousin Sarah came into town with her 2 little ones, Abby and Seth!  We had lunch at Barnaby's Cafe! Barnaby's is such a fun little restaurant and one of the only ones in town where you can bring your dog and have lunch on the patio. Seth loves dogs and got to pet a few. After lunch we headed to Main St. for the play Pinkalicious! After the play we went to Sugarbaby's for cupcakes. We had the best time!

Seth giving a belly rub to a friendly pup!

Excited for Pinkalicious!
This play was sooooo cute!! If you have any little brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews or any other little friends you should defiantly check this play out! It was fun and very entertaining! This week is the last week, get your tickets here while they are still available!

Sugarbabys!
This place is so cute!

Greg's brother also came to town this weekend and we celebrated his birthday! We had dinner at Fleming's on Saturday night!  Happy Birthday Robert! We had such a fun dinner and lots of wine!!

Robert and Greg!

Mom and Dad trying Good Dog for the first time!
My parents gave me a surprise visit on Sunday! They needed to run some errands so we had lunch and got to hang out for a little bit. One of my favorite things about being in The Heights is that there are always so many unique things to do. Greg and I discovered Good Dog Hot Dog a year ago and it is one of our favorite food trucks! They have the best hot dogs and bus bus chips. Everything is made from scratch and we LOVE IT! On Sunday's they are at our local nursery and they serve lunch for a couple of hours! There are table and chairs set up so you can have lunch there! It's like being in your own private garden...there are so many pretty flowers, plants and butterflies to admire while you enjoy your meal! If you are ever in The Heights area you should check them out!

This weekend was great! I hope everyone else have a good one too!

TGIF!

Photobucket

Dear Zoo Organization, I really enjoy having our events at the zoo, but last night's event at Blackfinn was great! I think every one had a good time learning about sharks!

Dear new Kroger on Studemont, you are not even open yet and I already do not like you. You are putting in a new light and trucks are starting to deliver....It's all in my way. I enjoyed being able to zoom through there and now you just ruined it. I think I will boycott you unless you would like to send me on a shopping spree....forget about it!

Dear Banana Republic, thank you so much for inviting me to come and meet one of my most favorite local chefs- Bryan Caswell!! His food was the bomb.com as always and he was so nice and genuine!  You can read what I have written about him here!

I've got the super cheese on! I was so excited!!

Dear Blog Friends, Thank you for all of your comments this week! I'm really enjoying this blogging experience! Everyone is sooooooo nice!!

This week I was able to catch up with so many great friends! From lunch dates to happy hours and bike rides! It was so nice!

Laila, Lisa, Ashley and I having some girl time!

Taylor (my little sister from DZ) and I playing in Midtown!

I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend!!

Thankful Thursday - Christmas in July?!

I'm not sure if it was the rainathon we just had or what, but Selena thought it would be a good idea to buy a TON of stuff online! It's not my birthday, I do not really have any big functions this month..... I guess it could be like a half birthday celebration or something?!

I do have a few trips and weddings coming up (anything to justify a purchase) so I will be using everything I bought. It's not my fault my inbox gets flooded with emails that say "SALE"  and  "40% Off"?!  What's a girl supposed to do?!

Below are some of my favs!!

Merry Thursday!

Concert Series Part 2 - 311 and a weekend!

Sunday night Greg and I went to The Woodlands for a 311 concert! This was Greg's first time to see 311 and this was my 6th time to see them! My first time was when I was a sophomore in high school! Something about their beachy beats and easy breezy playing really drew me to them! Nick Hexum is also not bad to look at! He has changed hair color and woman throughout the years...including Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.

This weekend was pretty chill! Greg and I had a date night on Friday and Saturday, which is normally something we never get to do! We are always running around to different functions. Saturday we went to check out Bar Munich! He was craving some authentic German food like he had last month when he was in Europe! Bar Munich was great! We had some Hofbrau beer and Bratwursts. When Greg was in Munich he actually went to the original Hofbrauhaus! Our bartender let me try all the Dunkels....I love dark beer!

Yum!!

Friday night margaritas!
For some reason I ran though the weekend backwards...oh well, lol!

Hiding from the rain!

Also I want to send a shout out!! Happy Birthday to one of my best friends Kinsey from Looks Good! I hope you have an amazing day!!
