Concert Series Part 1 - COLDPLAY!

This was my 3rd time seeing Coldplay and let me just say that they NEVER disappoint!! EVER!! They are such an amazing and talented group of guys! If you want to go to a concert and hear people sing and sound like they do on a CD then go to a Coldplay concert! 2 really cool new things this year! Electronic bracelets!! They lit up to the beat...AWESOME!!!! My pictures and videos do not do them justice...there were beautiful neon lights blinking everywhere! Also at the end of their "runway" the platform was in the shape of TEXAS!! They played all of the best songs!! If I could be a tour groupie it would totally be with them!! I hope their new CD comes out soon!!

Port A!!! Hey Hey Hey!!!

I think I am almost recovered from the amazing 4 day weekend I had with my high school girlfriends! We had a BLAST! We stayed at a beautiful beach house, partied at Bernie's 3 nights in a row and relaxed at the beach during the day! It was so good spending with everyone and getting a little silly!! 

Can we go back again ASAP?!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!

Thankful Thursday - High School Friends!

Being from a small town really makes you appreciate people and the friendships you form with them. We have grown up together and celebrated so many special occasions with each other. It truly is a special bond and no matter how much time goes by; when we get together we do not skip a beat. This weekend we will be having a girls trip to Port A!! I'm so excited to spend time with everyone and have some fun in sun!!

Turtle Time Texas!!

If you are a real housewife fan then you might be familiar with Turtle Time!! That is right, Ramona Singer from RHWNY was in the house last night! Houston, Texas to be exact! Laila invited Ashley and I to Ramona's Pinot Grigio wine tasting at Spec's where we then go to meet her and have our bottles signed! She is also designing jewelry and told us about her new pieces. She is making some really cute little turtle charms. We tried to tell her that the turtle was our sorority mascot, but no can get a word in....Ramona takes control of every conversation! Hmm, I guess some things you see on reality TV are real, lol! All in all it was a neat experience!

Thankful Thursday - Garden Goodness!

One of my favorite things about the summer is my parents garden! There are peppers, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, zucchini, okra, onions and more!  There is nothing better than home grown vegetables! It's always very plentiful...sometimes not all at the same time. I will end up having a ton of cucumbers or zucchini sometimes and will have to wait for some of the other veggies. I usually grill, boil and bake them. I never want anything to go to waste so I have started to look for new ways to get some veggie intake! Enter zucchini chips! It's a perfect snack. This recipe calls for 2 zucchini's, but you will notice that everything shrinks...So sometimes I double the recipe for more chips!

Zucchini Chips

Ingredients
(serves 1) - Double to make more!
2 zucchini
1tsp of olive oil
1/4 tsp of salt - I normally cut the salt, but you can do whatever you like!
1/4 – 1/2 tsp of garlic powder - I normally use real garlic
ground pepper (to taste)

Directions
1) slice 2 medium zucchinis (about 1/2 pound each) thinly with a mandolin
2) toss the sliced zucchini's in a bowl with olive oil, salt and garlic powder
3) spray a baking sheet and place them on there on the pan
4) sprinkle them with freshly ground pepper
5) preheat the oven to about 400f and bake for 30min turning them over once at 15min

Wine and a Wedding!!

While Greg is away on his amazing Europe trip he has sent me a few pics!  This is in Heidelberg, it's so pretty! Love all of the rustic roofs and the mountains that nestle the little town!

Friday night I had 2 girlfriends over! We just wanted to do a simple wine and pizza night! 6 bottles later we were having a ball! Even my neighbors came over for a little while!! A very fun Friday!

Saturday I went to a wedding back home for one of my best guy friends!! Trent and I were literally born 2 days apart and our moms ended up sharing a room together in the hospital! The nurse would bring us in together! I had always heard about Trent, but it was not until High School that we met and become instant friends!

Overall it was a great weekend!

I live in the Heights, which is a tiny suburb of Houston!  One of the oldest in city actually! It has a small town feel, which I love because I'm a small town girl....living in a lonely word. Yes I love Journey!


Meet Greg! The boyfriend!! We have been dating for almost 4 years!! We met of the 4th of July and sparks flew!! LOL!

Meet Riley, my little fur boo bear!! I have always lived in apartments prior to moving to the Heights and I love animals so a cat seemed practical!  I also saved him from a snake man...we will get to that story at a later date and time! I really want a puppy (wish list)  now since we have more room!

I love to have a good time! Love to dance and celebrating is pretty much what I'm doing every weekend! Weddings, birthdays, baby showers, bar mitzvah's, bridal showers, rain dances.....you get the drift! I would not be who I am without my amazing family and friends! Love them!
